These treatments eliminate the competition to pine trees so that they have access to all the water and available nutrients.
This allows the pine plantations to realize their full growth potential.
What we look at on the tract
- Crop species, age and height relative to the competition sitting over or beside them
- Which hardwood species are present, and which of them come back hard after treatment
- Stems per acre and how far the canopy has already closed
- Hardwood you want kept — mast trees, streamside management zones, boundaries and screens
- Access, staging and how the tract lies for an aerial pass
- The window the site allows, and what the stand looks like inside it
How the work runs
You get the treatment options with the tradeoffs explained — including what a lighter treatment would and would not accomplish — and firm pricing in writing before the work is committed.
Aircraft and crews are coordinated through established relationships with proven aerial applicators. Herbicides are mixed on site, the areas being treated and the areas being left alone are both confirmed on the ground first, and someone accountable stays on site while the application runs.
