Invasive aquatic weeds and algae can quickly take over waterways, ditches and other drainage systems.
When aquatic vegetation flourishes it can negatively affect human activity (swimming, fishing, navigation), destroy fish and wildlife habitat, reduce flow and holding capacity, and alter water temperature and oxygen.
Aerial Forestry Services offers environmentally sound herbicide spraying solutions with economical options to address individual needs. Aquatic herbicide treatments have proven to be safe, and are the most effective way to control aquatic vegetation problems.
What we look at on the tract
- What the water is used for — stock, irrigation, fishing, recreation
- The target vegetation, and whether it is floating, submerged, emergent or shoreline growth
- Whether the water moves, and where it goes when it leaves the property
- Fish in the water, and whether the growth is heavy enough to treat in sections
- Crops, pasture and gardens that adjoin the water
- Access to the bank, and whether the work is better run from the ground or the air
How the work runs
Products are chosen from what is labeled for the water in question, and the label governs the rate and any use restrictions that follow the treatment. You get those restrictions in plain terms up front, in writing, alongside the price — not after the fact.
Herbicides are mixed on site, treatment areas are confirmed before anything goes out, and someone accountable is present while the work runs. If the growth needs to be taken down in stages, the sequence is part of the plan you approve.
